Shimano TR200G Overhead Reel
The Shimano TR200G Overhead reel is one of the workhorses of the Shimano catalogue and is the ideal reel for a novice angler looking to get to grips to sea fishing. Due to its high affordability, it is also an excellent choice for the experienced angler who is looking to invest in a high quality second or third reel without breaking the bank. When designing saltwater fishing reels one of the biggest problems tackle manufacturers face is corrosion. Saltwater is one of the most naturally corrosive substances on the planet and as such tackle designers have to ensure that the sea fishing tackle they produce won't simply turn to rust after a number of uses. This is why, when constructing the TR200G, Shimano has put to use one of its favourite materials. XT-7 is Shiamno's go-to carbon composite material when it comes to creating lightweight, sturdy, and strong reels. However it also has the dual benefit of being completely corrosion proof ensuring that the body of your reel remains rust-free. The TR200G is also fitted with A-RB bearings. The standard on many Shimano reels, these anti-rust bearings ensure that the delicate moving parts of the reel remain smooth moving throughout the reels life. The TR200G Overhead has been a favourite among anglers for many years. However, in recent years it has seen an upswing in popularity thanks to its penchant for braided lines. If you are an angler who like to fish with a braid but has been struggling to find a saltwater reel that is up to the job then the TR200G could just be the answer to your prayers. With a moderate cast range and 66cm retrieve rate this is an ideal reel for those anglers who enjoy inshore fishing for a variety of species of the British coastline.
