The UK's leading catfish expert, Simon Clarke, established Catfish Pro in 2004 as a response to the growing demand for catfish fishing tackle and accessories. Simon had been a catfish angler since 1984 and at the time was also the secretary of the Catfish Conservation Group. Catfish angling has been a steadily growing area of the sport for many years, but for much of this time, it has suffered from a lack of specific equipment and information in general. Since its inception Catfish-Pro has continued to develop the only full range of equipment and accessories available in the UK and this specialist range is being expanded upon year on year as new products are constantly under development. The Catfish Pro EVA Butt Protector Cup is made to fit the Catfish-Pro full duplon rods. The Butt Cup sports a large mushroom-shaped design to ensure protection all around the circumference of the rod butt. The outside diameter of the pad is 4inches and the internal diameter where the rod butt is inserted is 1inch in diameter, so is ideal for most catfish and carp rods, If you are using a rod with a Japanese shrink slim handle the rod will not fit tightly. When playing catfish, the extra EVA pad is used as a fighting pad. Placing the butt of the rod securely between your knees to help with reeling in the larger catfish in UK or international waters.
