Its team, including its founder, are all passionate anglers and tackle experts whose main aim is to transform the way anglers' fish across the nation. It has been driven to design and manufacture top quality terminal tackle ever since the company made its first few floats and continues to make products with passion and love for nature and angling. These Acolyte Ultra Float Rods purely demonstrate what Drennan is all about. This float rod is available is three different sizes and each of these will fit a different purpose so there is definitely one which is perfect for your style of float fishing, whether you target carp or bream. One thing that remains the same across the sizes is that they all have a slim, high modulus carbon blank which makes the body of these rods exceptionally sturdy and robust; they are firm and able to cope with those aggressive fish. They are rigid with light crisp action and little to no bounce. The beautiful balance this rod has also provides you with excellent line and float control, so you can cast this rod with accuracy and get it precisely where you want it in your swim. Yet another shared feature is the soft and cushioning tip action. The 13ft model of the Acolyte Ultra weighs in at just 4.75oz and the 14ft weighs only 5.25oz which makes it even more balanced than most 13ft models Thanks to the use of carbon, Drennan has managed to maintain these rods at a lightweight which makes transporting and storing them much easier than other float rods on the market that are on the bulkier side. When the rod is paired with a compact float fish reel, the rod tends to sit up in the hand at slightly above horizontal. These high-quality float rods have been predominantly designed for reel lines from 2lb 80z to 4lb+, which is roughly 0.12mm to 0.18mm diameter monofilament. The soft tip action also acts as a mild shock absorber that cushions the strike and helps to prevent the event of hook pulls. This will allow you to fish ultra-light hooklengths below 1lb (0.08mm) successfully and with confidence. Whilst the 13ft and 14ft models are incredible rods by themselves, the 15ft Acolyte Ultra has that hugely vital extra length that is can't be missed out on when you want improved line and float control. The 15ft is ideal for river fishing because the crisp tip section offers superb line control with wagglers, stick floats and bolo floats. You can use a variety of techniques and methods with the Acolyte Ultra Float Rod and still make the most of its exceptional control and innovative features. When tackling deeper swims, the extra length of this rod is an extremely useful asset. Even with the extra length, this rod remains super lightweight thanks to the slim and featherweight blank making it weigh approximately 5 3/4oz (163g). This is still lighter and better balanced than many other manufacturers' 13ft models, so you don't have to sacrifice innovation and precision to find a lightweight rod that's easy to get down to the bank. This three-piece rod works incredibly well with reel lines from 3lb to 5lb (1.4kg to 2.3kg) and hooklengths from 4lb (0.15mm) all the way down to 1 1/2lb (0.9mm). It has been designed with specialists in mind who won't settle for anything less than the best long float rods when carp fishing.
