The Century T800-SGT overcomes a long standing problem, one of degradation. In some rods, over time the carbon fibre degrades resulting in a soft rod which is likely to decrease performance in terms of action and durability. However the clever people at Century have came up with a new technique which prolongs the rod's performance and lifespan, strengthens the carbon fibres and increases the rods integrity under stress. All this using an autoclave.Traditionally, autoclaves are used in hospitals for sterilisation however they also have many important scientific and industrial uses. Essentially an autoclave is a pressure cooker which is used to process materials which require exposure to elevated temperature and pressure, in this case carbon fibre. What's so clever about the Century Eliminator T800-SGT is that the carbon fibres in the blank have been consolidated using heat and pressure which consequently prevents the carbon fibres from degrading. This ultimately increases the rod's lifespan and optimises it's performance.The technical specification of the T800-SGT is huge and well researched. Century have also incorporated HPR resin technology, in addition to Autoclave Technology, and for the first time 45/45 STF (spread tow fabric) to improve AT-T anti-twist. The STF surfaces at the upper butt and lower tip and compliments the Anti-Twist Technology incorporated throughout the rod. STF comes straight out of Formula One and all cars use this material extensively in the chassis for performance.The Eliminator T800 covers a wide range of fishing applications and the SGT tip is a delight registering the finest indicator bites. Slightly narrower and even more sensitive in the tip than its big brother T900, it will still handle conger, hounds and cod where 5ozs plus a big bait package is required. T800 is a great long distance match rod with sufficient tenacity and power to bully fish through weed. It can be confidently described as a relaxed long range casting rod and easy to use over mixed and smooth ground.
