Experts in all things rotational, the Shimano Baitrunner XT-A Longcast (LC) reel boasts all the latest technically innovation Shimano has to offer. Available in two sizes, the bigger of the two Baitrunners features a large AR-C spool with a slow oscillation Aero Wrap II line lay. This combination ensures that maximum performance is maintained, even over long distance casts. The smaller ‘Medium’ sized Baitrunner offers outstanding performance on medium sized waters where distance casting isn’t the sole requirement of the water. The internal structure of the reel is the same across the two sizes. Both reels feature five ball bearings which are shielded A-RB to increase the stamina and durability of the reel. Friction is minimised and the gears have been completely reconfigured to offer increased power transfer from the long aluminium handle to the rotor – providing exceptional torque. Playing fish is easy with this Baitrunner XT-A Longcast, and it works to deliver you the most control possible. Shimano’s Baitrunner system is one of the most mimicked on the angling market, but you just can’t beat the power of the original. The Baitrunner is a lever, located on the reel of the reel, with the primary purpose to allow the line to be released in a controlled freespool.
