One of the apex predator fish species, zander provide a challenge that's almost impossible for dedicated predator anglers to resist.
Favouring murky waters, such as deep rivers and heavily boated canals, zander are voracious feeders, and can be very effectively drawn to a lure by scatter feeding deadbait along the water course, and then introducing the lure along with a deadbait feed. The Fox Rage Zander Pro range of lures is made from a robust rubber mixture, which increases the usable life of the lure by up to five times over lures from lesser brands. The clever tail shape on these lures mimics natural movement, and is designed to eliminate overstretch when fished in fast water. At 10cm (4"), the Zander Pro lure accurately represents most common zander prey fish, and is capable of holding its own in any water, from still water to fast flowing rivers, and canals with a regular churn from passing boats. These lures can also be effective for catching perch. Designed with the modern lure angler in mind, the Fox Rage range is Fox's dedicated predator fishing brand, committed to providing full functionality to predator anglers, whether you're fishing for pike, zander, or catfish. Predator fish can be incredibly challenging to bring to the hook; the larger predators won't feed every day, and, unless you have the time to devote to watching your chosen swim several times a day, for several days, you won't know how often these fish tend to actively feed, rather than taking quick advantage of an easy, passing meal simply for the sake of it. You want your predator fish hungry, and actively looking for food if you're taking a traditional baiting approach, but that often brings you up completely blank, and, even when you don't blank, you're typically drawing smaller fish, who haven't yet learned the caution of the big beasts that create album shots and personal bests.
