Wychwood Riot Big Pit Reels
With in excess of a quarter of a century of experience in the tackle industry, Wychwood?is one of the most established brands in the country. Its duo of Riot Big Pit Reels represent the full 25 years of experience this company has to offer.
The machine cut aluminium spool is the base on which the graphite body and rotor have been built. Graphite is an exceptional material, and is simultaneously high-strength and lightweight. This makes it the perfect material for?top quality reels?as it maintains performance whilst keep overall weight to a minimum.
This unique spool design creates an outstanding line lay meaning this reel is almost silent when casting. The?line?exits the spool in incredibly tight loops, unique for a big pit reel like the Riot, which improves line flow through rods with a standard ringing pattern of 40mm butt to 12mm tip. ?These tight loops also reduce the risk of line wraps around the butt ring a phenomenon which most often occurs when using thick lines during power casting. Wychwood also took great care when designing the Riot reel to ensure that the micro-pitch front drag performed to its maximum ability. This front drag allows you to go from free-running to locked down in staggeringly few turns, without affecting the smoothness of the drag in any way.
Wychwood recommends that this reel is coupled with any of the top end rods the company have manufactured. This paring ensures that the Riot Big Pit Reel balances perfectly, and offers improved performance during casting. If you enjoy playing fish, then this reel is the perfect one for you.
The Wychwood Riot Big Pit is available in two sizes. The 65 has a 340m, 15lb, line capacity, and the 75 allows for a whopping 420m of line, with the same 15lb line.
