This is an excellent product from Avid, hats off to them. The quality is exceptional, with loads of room to kneel, twist and turn in comfort. The Ripstop material is tough but flexible and the extra wide legs mean that you can crouch down easily and not have to worry about the extra strain this manoeuvre normally puts on the crotch area of standard bib and brace garments.. In my experience of other thermal suits, this is always the first area to fail, with the material either tearing or the stitching giving way.. Because of the clever design, I doubt there’s much chance of that happening with this Avid product. All zips and buckles are solidly made, and should last the test of time.. I do however, have one gripe. Not with the product itself but with the marketing. This product is described as a Blizzard garment. But people need to be aware that this is NOT a thermal item. It has no extra padding on the inside. It’s wind proof, waterproof and extremely tough! But in my opinion blizzard is the wrong and therefore misleading name for this product. As the word “blizzard” implies snow and ice conditions.. And this is NOT a thermal garment.
However, that is the only negative I can find with this excellent product. Thermal layering in multiple is the way forward using the Blizzard, which I’ve actually come to prefer in practice. As it gives me more manoeuverability over polar like thermal suits. All in all, well done Avid …
